Anse-à-Pitres

Anse-à-Pitres is a small village of 30.000 inhabitants in the Haitian’s department South-East. Located on the border with the Dominican Republic, over the years it has become an important hub for the flow of Haitian migrants heading to the Dominican Republic.
Despite the benefits due to trade with the nearby Pedernales in the Dominican Republic, much of the local population lives in dire economic straits. In this context, the NGO Ayitimoun yo has been operating since 2011, which accommodates street children and provides aid to the most needy families.
